The VJ Day Parade Committee proudly announces that this year’s parade is dedicated to “Our Greatest Generation, 70 Years Later” as we recognize the 70th anniversary of VJ Day.
This will be the 54th annual VJ Day Parade and it will be held on 9 August 2015.
We are asking you to help us to continue with our success of putting on a parade of this size which this year will pay honor to the service and sacrifices made by those who served and paid the ultimate sacrifice in World War II.
Your donation, whether it is large or small, will help us tremendously in offsetting the expenses that are associated with such an event. Some of these are the transportation, the police coverage and most importantly the bands. Additionally, we are planning some special events to properly mark this anniversary.
We do realize that we are all going through tough times right now but we hope you can help us in our endeavor. All donations will be greatly appreciated.
Please make checks payable to VJ Day Parade Committee and mail to VJ Day Parade Committee, P.O. Box 821, Danielson, CT 06239 or hand deliver to American Legion Post 91.
The 4th Annual VJ Day Parade Golf Classic, sponsored by American Legion Post 91, is COMPLETELY SOLD OUT, folks! That means it’s a great place to advertise on a Tee Sponsor sign. Download the Tee Sponsorship form HERE.
The event will be held on Monday, April 27, 2015 at 12:00 Noon, at the Lake of Isles South (Private) Course: Foxwoods.

We had a huge turnout for the Job Fair last Thursday. Thank you so much to all participants and supporters. Both employers and job seekers report success. Horsebrook Cafe hired several people, with at least one having already started work. One other employer present at last night’s PBA meeting reported receiving 60 applications and another reported several very highly qualified applicants that might never have been found through other methods.
Speaking of last night’s meeting – did you miss it? Meetings are held the third Tuesday of the month, at Jewett City Savings Bank in Central Village. We’d love for you to drop in, whether you’re a local resident or a business owner. To make sure you get reminders of meeting and other PBA events, we’ve created an email list. Sign up over on the right. We’d love to keep you informed about what’s going on with the PBA.
